the cultured, suave, handsome actor, photographer and model is 2020’s one to watch. Taking over Hollywood this holiday season, the devilishly handsome talent can now be seen in the feel-good Holiday Christmas film A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE alongside Tamera Mowry-Housley. We would love to arrange an interview with you and the suave leading man to discuss his new film, as well as his other current projects, as well as his career overall, and his hardworking journey to becoming Hollywood’s new leading man.
Filled with heart, warmth, strength and love, A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE tells the story of ‘Markus’ (Brooks), a creatively stifled hotshot working at a trendy magazine company as a photographer who is looking to move on to something new. When he meets ‘Emma’ (Tamera), the ever-optimistic single mom who is looking for a Christmas miracle to write about for the lifestyle magazine they both work at. While following her lead on the story, Emma discovers unexpected romance with a supportive colleague and takes it upon herself to bring about a Christmas miracle for a lonely street musician.
Born and raised in Warren, OH, Brooks was raised in a very traditional midwestern environment. Growing up his full focus was on athletics including football, baseball, taekwondo, basketball, as well as gymnastics thanks to his mom’s guidance. At the age of 16, Brooks began getting interested in the world of acting and modeling and had begun performing at NYC showcase competitions. Brooks was placed third among over four hundred monologue contestants that won him an invitation to study at the prestigious Conservatory theatre school in San Francisco. With the hopes of continuing his education as a pre-med student on a football scholarship at Indiana University, Darnell decided to halt his acting career for a while. After two years of college, Brooks left higher education to pursue what he truly loved, the entertainment industry. Working many physically draining and odd jobs to save up, Brooks eventually moved to Canada where he began working as a barber, trainer and in security while honing his skills and going out on auditions. After booking roles on series such as the CW’s “Nikita,” and A&E’s “Breakout Kings,” Brooks landed his first big role in the action-packed thriller reboot TOTALL RECALL. After the film’s success, Brooks moved from Canada to Los Angeles where he would go on to book roles on popular series including Freeform’s “Shadow Hunters: The Mortal Instruments,” and the iconic soap opera “The Young and the Restless,” on CBS.
When Brooks isn’t busy on screen, he can be found behind the lens of a camera as an avid photographer. He can also be found in the gym, on a hiking trail or practicing deep meditation as health and wellness are of great importance. Brooks is also a fierce advocate for the mental health awareness and arts in education. With an eye for fashion, Brooks also has dreams of first creating his own scarf and fragrance line in the near future.
